Abstract

Real-time monitoring of temperature and humidity is an essential requirement in various fields such as healthcare, agriculture, industry, and environmental management to maintain room stability and prevent damage to electronic equipment. This study aims to design and develop a temperature and humidity monitoring system based on the ESP32 microcontroller with a DHT22 sensor. The system is designed to display data directly through an OLED screen and the Blynk application, enabling remote real-time monitoring. The research employs an experimental method with testing conducted in two scenarios: a closed room and an open area, with a relative humidity (RH) control point set at 65%. The test results indicate that the system effectively operates in a closed environment, where humidity increased from 54.5% to 65% RH within 10 minutes and was then maintained steadily through an automatic control mechanism. However, in an open area, the system did not show a significant increase in humidity due to free air circulation, which accelerates water vapor dispersion. Therefore, it can be concluded that the ESP32-based monitoring system is effective for use in controlled indoor environments and has the potential to be further developed for smart home applications and industrial systems based on the Internet of Things (IoT).
