This study discusses the application of the TOPSIS method in selecting outstanding students at SMKN 11 Semarang. The process of selecting outstanding students has been carried out based on manual assessments covering several criteria such as academic grades, discipline, attendance, attitude, and non-academic achievements. This manual assessment has the potential for subjectivity in determining the final results, so a more structured decision-making method is needed. The TOPSIS method is used to solve this problem by considering the proximity of each alternative to the positive ideal solution and the negative ideal solution. The research data was obtained from 30 students who were the alternative assessments. The stages of the TOPSIS method include compiling a decision matrix, normalization, weighting, determining the ideal solution, calculating distances, and calculating preference values. The results show that the TOPSIS method is able to produce objective student rankings based on all criteria used. Students with the highest preference values show more balanced performance in each aspect of the assessment compared to other students. The application of this method helps the decision-making process become more systematic and measurable.
