Author Guidelines

1. Online Submission

All manuscripts must be submitted exclusively through the journal’s Online Journal System (OJS). Submissions via email or other communication channels will not be processed.

Submission Process for New Authors

Authors submitting to the journal for the first time must follow these steps:

  1. Register an Account
    Create an author account through the journal registration page in the OJS system.

  2. Login to the System
    After completing the registration, log in using your registered username and password.

  3. Start a New Submission
    Select “Make a New Submission” in the author dashboard.

  4. Complete the Submission Form
    Authors must fill in all required metadata fields including:

    • Title

    • Abstract

    • Keywords

    • Author information and affiliation

    • References

  5. Upload the Manuscript
    Upload the manuscript file prepared using the official KOMPAK template.

Submissions that are incomplete or do not follow the template may be returned for correction before editorial screening.

2. Manuscript Preparation

Manuscripts must be prepared using the official KOMPAK article template.

General Formatting

  • Paper size: A4

  • Margins: Top & Left 2.5 cm, Right & Bottom 2 cm

  • Font: Times New Roman

  • Font size: 10 pt

  • Line spacing: Single

  • File format: Microsoft Word (.doc/.docx)

Manuscript Length

  • Research Articles: maximum 12 pages

  • Review/Survey Articles: maximum 16 pages

3. Title

The title should:

  • Clearly represent the content of the article

  • Contain no more than 14 words

  • Avoid abbreviations or acronyms whenever possible

  • Be written in Title Case

A concise title improves discoverability in indexing systems.

4. Abstract and Keywords

Abstract

The abstract must:

  • Be written in English

  • Contain 150–250 words

  • Be written in one paragraph

  • Stand alone without referencing the full text

The abstract should include:

  • Background

  • Research objective

  • Methodology

  • Dataset or research data

  • Key findings

  • Contribution or novelty

References must not be included in the abstract.

Keywords

Provide 3-5 keywords that reflect the content of the study and support indexing.

5. Article Structure

Manuscripts should follow the IMRaD structure:

1. Introduction

The introduction should include:

  • Research background

  • Problem identification

  • Literature review

  • Research gap

  • Research objectives

Typically written in 4–6 paragraphs.

2. Method

This section should describe:

  • Research design

  • Data collection methods

  • Algorithms or analytical techniques used

  • Experimental procedures

  • Evaluation methods

3. Results and Analysis

This section presents the research findings supported by:

  • Tables

  • Figures

  • Graphs

  • Quantitative or qualitative analysis

4. Discussion

The discussion should:

  • Interpret the results

  • Compare findings with previous research

  • Explain theoretical or practical implications

  • Highlight limitations

5. Conclusion

The conclusion should:

  • Summarize key findings

  • Highlight contributions of the study

  • Provide recommendations for future research

The conclusion should be concise and written in no more than two paragraphs.

6. Figures and Tables

Figures and tables must:

  • Be placed in the center

  • Be clearly labeled and numbered

  • Be cited in the manuscript text

  • Include descriptive captions

7. References

KOMPAK uses the IEEE citation style.

Reference requirements:

  • Minimum 25 references

  • 80% from peer-reviewed journal articles

  • Preferably published within the last 5 years

  • Maximum 20% from books or other sources

Authors are encouraged to use reference management tools such as Mendeley.

8. Peer Review Process

All manuscripts submitted to KOMPAK undergo a double-blind peer review process, where the identities of both authors and reviewers are concealed.

The review process typically involves:

  1. Editorial screening

  2. Plagiarism checking

  3. Double-blind peer review

  4. Editorial decision

The editorial decision may include:

  • Accept

  • Minor revision

  • Major revision

  • Reject

9. Plagiarism Screening

All submitted manuscripts will be screened using plagiarism detection software (e.g., Turnitin) before entering the peer-review stage. Manuscripts with a similarity index exceeding the journal threshold may be returned to the authors for revision or rejected if substantial overlap is identified.

10. AI Usage Policy

Authors must ensure transparency when using Artificial Intelligence (AI) tools during manuscript preparation.

AI tools may be used for:

  • Language editing

  • Grammar improvement

  • Formatting assistance

However, AI tools must not be listed as authors, and authors remain fully responsible for the content of the manuscript.

If AI tools are used, authors should disclose this in the Acknowledgment or Method section.

11. Data Availability

Authors are encouraged to provide a Data Availability Statement describing how the data supporting the findings of the study can be accessed.

Data may be:

  • Included in the article

  • Available in a public repository

  • Available upon reasonable request from the authors

12. Conflict of Interest

Authors must disclose any financial or personal relationships that could influence the research results or interpretation.

If no conflict exists, authors should state:

“The authors declare no conflict of interest.”

13. ORCID (Optional but Recommended)

Authors are encouraged to include their ORCID iD during submission to improve researcher identification and research visibility.

14. Ethical Statement

Authors must ensure that:

  • The manuscript is original

  • The work has not been published elsewhere

  • The manuscript is not under review in another journal

All authors must approve the final version before submission.

15. Final Notes

Before submission, authors must ensure that:

  • The manuscript follows the KOMPAK template

  • All metadata fields in OJS are completed

  • Figures and tables are properly cited

  • References follow the IEEE style

Manuscripts that do not comply with the journal guidelines may be returned to authors for revision before peer review.

Submission Preparation Checklist

All submissions must meet the following requirements.

  • The text adheres to the stylistic and bibliographic requirements outlined in the Author Guidelines.
