Correction and Retraction Policy
1. General Policy
KOMPAK: Jurnal Ilmiah Komputerisasi Akuntansi is committed to maintaining the accuracy, reliability, and integrity of the scholarly record. The journal follows the principles and guidelines established by the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) in addressing corrections, retractions, and other post-publication issues. All editorial actions are conducted transparently, fairly, and objectively.
2. Correction Policy
Corrections may be issued when errors are identified in published articles that do not substantially affect the validity of the research findings or conclusions. Such errors may include inaccuracies in author information, data presentation, figures, tables, or other publication details. Corrections will be clearly identified, publicly accessible, and linked to the original article.
3. Retraction Policy
Articles may be retracted when substantial evidence demonstrates that their findings are unreliable due to data fabrication, falsification, plagiarism, duplicate publication, serious methodological errors, unethical research practices, or manipulation of the publication process. Retraction decisions are made by the editorial team in accordance with COPE guidelines to preserve the integrity of the scholarly record.
4. Retraction Procedures
Before issuing a retraction, the editorial team will evaluate the available evidence and provide the authors with an opportunity to respond. The journal may consult independent experts or relevant institutions when necessary. The Editor-in-Chief or an independent editor, where a conflict of interest exists, will determine the appropriate action based on the investigation findings.
5. Expression of Concern
An Expression of Concern may be issued when credible concerns arise regarding the integrity or reliability of a published article but sufficient evidence is not yet available to justify correction or retraction. The notice will be linked to the original article and may be updated or superseded once the investigation is concluded.
6. Publication of Correction and Retraction Notices
All correction and retraction notices will be published promptly, clearly identified, and made freely accessible. Retraction notices will state the reasons for retraction and identify the affected article. Retracted articles will generally remain accessible with appropriate labels and links to the retraction notice to preserve the transparency of the scholarly record.
7. Author Responsibilities
Authors are responsible for promptly informing the editorial office of any significant errors or ethical concerns identified after publication. Authors must cooperate with editorial investigations, provide relevant documentation when requested, and support appropriate corrective actions to maintain the reliability of their published research.
8. Editorial Independence and Transparency
Decisions regarding corrections, retractions, and Expressions of Concern are based on documented evidence, publication ethics, and the reliability of the scholarly record. The journal ensures that such decisions remain independent of financial, institutional, personal, or other inappropriate influences.
