LOCKSS (Lots of Copies Keep Stuff Safe)
The LOCKSS system allows participating libraries to collect, preserve, and provide permanent access to journal content by creating distributed and redundant copies across multiple institutions. This ensures that the journal’s content remains accessible even in the event of system failure or data loss.

CLOCKSS (Controlled LOCKSS)
CLOCKSS provides a secure, decentralized preservation network designed to safeguard digital scholarly materials. In the event that journal content becomes unavailable from the publisher’s website, the CLOCKSS archive ensures that the material remains permanently accessible to the scholarly community.
